Here are impressions from Wojciech Grzegorczyk… “My nameis Wojciech Grzegorczyk. I am a 14-year-old drummer living in Poland. The winning World Open Online Music Competition and invitation to the Cap Ferret Festival was a delightful surprise for me, bringing joy and the promise of a grand adventure.
Music is very important to me, and the opportunity to share my passion with a wonderful, friendly audience was a great privilege.
I had the chance to perform at concerts in charming locations, and playing alongside such talented musicians was an incredible experience. Their performances at the festival provided me with many artistic insights. Additionally, I received kindness and support from these more experienced musicians, which is invaluable for someone just beginning their journey in this demanding field of art.
The festival took place in a stunning location. The peninsula where the concerts were held is both charming and diverse. I stayed in a house overlooking the bay, and it was fascinating to observe the ebb and flow of tides, a phenomenon not seen on the Polish Baltic Sea. I also had the opportunity to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, which was an unforgettable experience.
The concert venues themselves offered not only musical experiences but also visual delights. The beautiful outdoor areas and the interiors of historic chapels, such as the Chapelle de l’Herbe, enhanced the experience of listening to beautiful music.
The most significant aspect of the festival for me was the interaction with the audience. The expressions of appreciation and support I received are invaluable. As a young musician at the beginning of my artistic journey, gaining approval and acceptance from listeners is immensely important. It is a great reward for the effort put into preparations so far and serves as motivation for further efforts. Sharing my passion with such a welcoming audience was a true pleasure.
During my stay in Cap Ferret, I could count on the help and support of many people, including wonderful volunteers. Their assistance with transport and other essential yet often underestimated matters was crucial, and I am very grateful to them.
I am especially thankful to the organizers, including Ms. Helene Berger, for giving me the opportunity to spend this wonderful time at the festival. The experience I gained is priceless, and the memories of the people and moments I encountered in Cap Ferret will stay with me for a long time. I hope to visit this wonderful place again someday. Thank you!”
