Dear music enthusiasts,
My name is Markéta Laštovičková. I am an accordionist from the Czech Republic, where I work as a professional musician and also teach at a music school in Havlíčkův Brod.
I would like to express my gratitude to the entire organizing team of the World Open Online Music Competition for their efforts and, more broadly, for the idea of hosting such a competition. It is a tremendous source of motivation for all participants to compete with musicians from around the world, gain new inspiration, and make new friends.
I have personally participated in the competition several times, both as a soloist and in chamber music. My most recent participation was with my student Viktor Stocker. We were truly captivated by the organizers’ concept of the „teacher and student“ category. This format is not very common in other competitions, so I am very grateful to the entire team for this wonderful idea.
Practicing together with Viktor was a delightful experience, something new and inspirational for us. It greatly enriched our shared lessons at the music school. In addition to our competition performance, we also used the repertoire for several concerts, and we are always happy to play together whenever possible. A beautiful bonus was the news that we were awarded a „special prize“ in the Masters Final. Thank you very much, and we greatly appreciate it.
I would like to encourage other teachers to consider participating in this competition with their students. You will experience many beautiful musical moments together and, at the same time, motivate your students to continue their musical journey. Chamber music with your student is a pleasant introduction to the world of competitions, and your student will feel supported by you, making the entire competition performance very natural, even for children who have never participated in any competitions before.
I wish all of you much success and a lot of joy in making music.
