REGULATIONS FOR ALL NOMINATIONS (SOLOISTS)

The “AMERICAN OPEN MUSIC COMPETITION” is held completely online, in INCOGNITO form with the aim of protecting the data and video recordings of participants:

  • Competition video performances can ONLY be viewed by the JURY and are not published publicly,
  • The participant (parent) sends ONLY a screenshot of the ID card, where ONLY the name, surname, year of birth and title of the document are visible or a certificate with the seal of the participant’s educational institution (name, surname and year of birth),
  • The participant can add a pseudonym (optional) in addition to their first and last name in the application. In this case, we publish the participant’s pseudonym in the results, and their first and last name in the certificate.

TIMETABLE

The participant chooses one of the three editions and sends an application.

SPRING EDITION
Accepting applications until March 15. Announcement of results April 15.

SUMMER EDITION
Accepting applications until June 1. Announcement of results June 25.

AUTUMN EDITION
Applications are accepted until December 1. Announcement of results December 25.

INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE

Performers from all over the world are invited to participate in the competition (Piano, symphony orchestra instruments, folk orchestra instruments, brass band instruments, composer, singing).

The participant performs the program of his choice and sends only one link of the competitive video performance.

• I category – born in 2019 and younger up to 3 minutes
• II category – born in 2018 up to 5 minutes
• III category – born in 2017 up to 5 minutes

MIDDLE JUNIOR

• IV category – born in 2016 up to 5 minutes
• V category – born in 2015 up to 6 minutes
• VI category – born in 2014 up to 6 minutes
• VII category – born in 2013 up to 8 minutes
• VIII category – born in 2012 up to 8 minutes

JUNIOR ARTIST

• IX category – born in 2011 up to 10 minutes
• X category – born in 2010 up to 13 minutes
• XI category – born in 2009 up to 13 minutes
• XII category – born in 2008 up to 13 minutes

SENIOR

• XIII category – born in 2006 and younger up to 15 minutes
• XIV category – born in 2004 and younger up to 15 minutes
• XV category – born in 2002 and younger up to 15 minutes
• XVI category – born in 2000 and younger up to 15 minutes

SENIOR ARTIST

• XVII category – born in 1998 and younger up to 15 minutes
• XVIII category – born in 1997 and older up to 15 minutes

VOCAL PERFORMANCE

Classical, pop, jazz, folk and other styles singing

PROGRAM

The participant performs the program of his choice and sends only one link of the competitive video performance.

The competitor can perform the program: a) a cappella, b) with “live” musical accompaniment, c) using a backing track (use of a phonogram is not allowed).

SENIOR ARTIST

• XVII category – born in 1998 and younger up to 10 minutes
• XVIII category – born in 1997 and older up to 10 minutes

VIDEO - RECORDING

The participant sends only one link of the competitive video performance.

• The video recording must show the instrument, face and hands of the performer,
• It is allowed to record works made at different times (in one file),
• Upload the video file to YouTube and add the link to application.

* Links to videos on social media are not accepted.

APPLICATION

The participant submits the following documentation:

• Completed application form,
• Identity document: he participant (parent) sends ONLY a screenshot of the ID card, where ONLY the name, surname, year of birth and title of the document are visible or a certificate with the seal of the participant’s educational institution (name, surname and year of birth),
• Photo for the artistic poster (optional),
• Artistic biography (optional).

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

Registration fee – 35 euros. 

If the participant wishes to receive a diploma with a “wet stamp” by the postal service, it is necessary to pay an additional amount for the entrance fee 10 euros (A total of 45 euros).

*The payer (participant) pays the commission taken by PayPal or Visa, Master Card.

INTERNATIONAL JURY

The work of the jury is regulated by the rules. Famous musicians, teachers, conductors and outstanding cultural figures are invited to the jury. The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.

Participants are evaluated based on the average score of the jury members (RESULTS). The number of diplomas of laureates is unlimited.

GOLD AWARDLAUREATE FIRST PRIZE is awarded to a participant who scored at least 90 – 100 points.

Participant’s performance level:

Performance level: GRANDE PERFORMER (99 – 100),

Performance level: CONCERT PERFORMER (96 – 98,99),

Performance level: VIRTUOSO PERFORMER (93 – 95,99),

Performance level: EXCELLENT PERFORMER (90 – 92,99).

SILVER AWARD/ LAUREATE SECOND PRIZE is awarded to a participant who scored at least 80 – 89,99 points.

Performance level: EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMER (85 — 89,99),

Performance level: PROMISING PERFORMER (80 — 84,99).

BRONZE AWARD/ LAUREATE THIRD PRIZE is awarded to a participant who scored at least 70 – 79,99 points.

Performance level: PERSPECTIVE PERFORMER

DIPLOMA is awarded to a participant who scored at least 65 – 69,99 points.

The organizer forms an expert commission which selects Absolute Winner of all competition disciplines and the entire competition (all three editions).

All contestants receive diplomas after the end of each edition in all categories:

AWARDS

Prize pool totaling $5,000 will be distributed among selected participants WORLD OPEN.., EUROPE OPEN… and AMERICAN OPEN MUSIC COMPETITION.

ORGANIZER

The European Association of Music Educators and Performers & Producer Agency MIR Production, with the support of the Ministries of Culture and Communication, organizes the AMERICAN OPEN MUSIC COMPETITION.

Competition is held by the Rules of participation, which is proposed by expert council, and is to be adopted by Assembly of the Association.
